Nigeria U17 women’s team (Flamingos) defeated WACO ladies 13-0 in a friendly at the FIFA Goal Project pitch in Abuja. Olowookere Bankole’s side are preparing for the 2022 FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers first-round meeting with the Democratic Republic of Congo and thrashed the Abuja-based side in their first tune-up game.
Opeyemi Ajakaye, Doosuur Atume, Precious Daniel, and Raheemot Adebayo netted a brace each plus a goal each from Dah-Zossu Alvine, Ojiyovwi Kesiena, Kafayat Bashiru, Aminat Folorunsho, and Mary Aderemi completed the rout.
The team will continue their build-up for the African U17WWCQ, India 2022 on Sunday against Beautiful Tour Girls tomorrow at the same venue by 4 pm.
Nigeria will face the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the first round of the Qualifiers with the first leg taking place from March 3-5 and the return leg from March 17-19, 2022.
The winner of the first-round tie between Nigeria and DR Congo will face either Egypt or Guinea Bissau in the second round.
Three teams will qualify for the World Cup from Africa.
