The much anticipated and inaugural female beach soccer tournament in Nigeria, Kwara State U-17 Beach Soccer tournament has been slated for April this year.
According to the 2021 programmes of the Kwara State Beach Soccer Association, the Championship is meant to raise and increase awareness about the game and also encourage female youth within the age bracket of fifteen to seventeen to develop a career in the game of beach soccer.

Speaking to Sports Writers while reacting to the 2021 activities of the Kwara Beach Soccer Association, the Chairman, Alhaji Abdulateef Adedeji disclosed that the association will leave no stone unturned to stage the maiden classical female Beach Soccer Competition in the state, noting the Championship which is approved by the women’s development committee of Africa Beach Soccer Union (ABSU) is billed for April this year.
Adedeji who confirmed the readiness of the Local Organising Committee told pen pushers that the tournament which is to leverage on the enabling environment created by the present administration under Mallam AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq would further showcase Kwara as a hub of sports development.
He however solicited the support and cooperation of critical stakeholders in the quest of the association to stage a befitting tourney to the admiration of sports fans in the state.
Kwara State follows Kebbi State in blazing the trail as far as the organization of state beach soccer tournaments and league is concerned in Nigeria.
