Finnish top-flight Ilves have named 27-year-old Cameroonian defender Landry Tabi Manga as their player of the month of April as a reward for his massive contribution in four games over the course of the month.
The club made the announcement this Tuesday, April 26 after a popular voting system in which the supporters plebiscited for their lead defender.
Though Ilves only won one of their four games in April Tabi put in a shift thus explaining the choice of the former FCI Levadia man.
The 2019 Finnish League winner with Kuopion Palloseurap will hope to some confidence from the individual prize to help his side target clean sheets during the rest of the season.
IIves will host SJK in Match-Day five of the championship this Friday with hopes of keeping their first clean sheet of the season with the help of Manga at the heart of their defense.
The defender who represented Cameroon at Under-20, 23 and senior level on two occasions has been off the national team set up for as many years but his recent performances could enhance his return.
