27-year-old Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has not forgotten his roots especially during this very challenging times.
The Liverpool and Egypt international forward has made a huge donation to the inhabitants of his village, Nagrig, in Gharbia Governorate, in the city of Basyoun in Egypt.
According to reports on Egypt Independent, the former FC Bale and Chelsea forward has made a donation of thousands of tons of food and fresh meat to the inhabitants of Nagrig.
Salah was born in the village which currently boast of 12000 inhabitants.
He is following in the footsteps of some former and current African football icons like Sadio Mane, Samuel Eto’o, Didier Drogba and Seydou Keita who have reached out to communities in their countries, to help with relief efforts since the outbreak of the global Coronavirus pandemic.
Salah’s father, Salah Ghaly also announced that the Liverpool forward also called on the population to avoid gatherings and strictly respect the measures put in place by the state to fight against the spread of the dreaded virus.
