After qualifying for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with two victories over Benin Republic and Lesotho, Nigeria’s senior national football team (Super Eagles) moved four places on the recently released FIFA rankings.
Super Eagles moved from 36th to 32nd position on the latest Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) rankings released on Wednesday, April 7, 2021.
Super Eagles with 1487.16 points occupied the third position in Africa behind the Teranga Lions of Senegal (22) and the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia (26).
Algeria (33), Morocco (34), Egypt (46), Ghana (49), Cameroon (55), Mali (57), and Ivory Coast (59) completes Africa’s top ten ranked countries.
The top six countries in the world remained unchanged with Belgium, France, Brazil, England, Portugal, and Spain occupying the top six positions in that order.
Italy, Argentina, Uruguay, and Denmark complete the top ten ranked football countries in the world.
