The world football governing body FIFA, has released the latest classification of National teams for the month of February 2022.
Newly crowned African Champions Senegal, continues their dominance as the best ranked African team , a position they have held since 2019.
The Lions of Teranga have climbed to 18th in this February’s edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, their highest ever position.
The indomitable lions of Cameroon who finished third in the just ended 33rd edition of the AFCON, have gained 12 places and now ranked 38th in the world, while runners-up Egypt now 34 in the world, after climbing 11places. These three African countries have made the most significant moves within the TOP 50.
AFCON debutants Gambia, have made the biggest jump of all this month. The Scorpions are now 125 in the world, ascending 25 places courtesy of their run to the quarter-finals at the African Cup.
Equatorial Guinea and Malawi who all reached the eighth final of the AFCON, have all made big moves, with the Nzalang Nacional now in the Top 100, while the Flames gained 10 places and are now 119 in the world.
Gabon climbed seven places and are now 82, while Mali gained five places (48, + 5), to broke in to the Top 50.
Algeria dropped the highest points (minus 55.58 points) and made the highest drop by rank (minus 14 ranks).
