He went further to condemn the creation of the supposed Super League which to him is an attempt to break away from current leagues existing in Europe.
“At FIFA we can only and strongly disapprove the creation of the super league, which is a closed shop, which is a breakaway from the current institutions, from the leagues, from the associations, from UEFA and from FIFA.” FIFA boss added.
The announcement of the “The European Super League” has created soo much tension and confusion amongst European Footballing Associations which could eventually crumble European Football.
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico de Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Juventus, Inter-Milan and Ac Milan are some of the 12 powers in Europe that contributed to the creation of European Super League though some clubs have opted out. The aim is to stand as a stiff competitor to the present day Champions League and a possible generate funds to participating teams since they have been hit by coronavirus pandemic.
