Popular football administrator Eugene Marie Diomande has announced his intention to withdraw his candidacy for the upcoming Ivorian football federation,FIF elections.
The Sewe Sports of San Pedro boss who voiced his intention to replace outgoing president Sidy Diallo last October informed the public of his desire to quit the race on Tuesday at the Palm Club hotel in Cocody.
At press time Diomande declared his admiration for Drogba’s projects for Ivorian Football and declared he has his support for the legend.
“Drogba has a great innovative project that can change our football. My mind tells me to support him, he has my support” :Diomande stated.
Some are reporting that he could be handed a key role in Didier Drogba’s campaign for the Ivorian football federation presidency.
Eugene Marie Diomande was a candidate for the same position in 2002 but unfortunately lost the election to Jacques Anouma.
He is the second candidate to back out of the race as Malick Tohe earlier made the same move but handed his support to Idriss Diallo.
81 voters including drawn from a cross section of club presidents and other stakeholders will decide the next head of the FIF.
