Cameroon football legend Samuel Eto’o Fils has thrown his weight behind his Ivorian friend Yves Tebily Didier Drogba in the upcoming Ivorian Football Federation Elections.

Samuel Eto’o speaking

“Forfeiting matches, trafficking of players, unpaid salaries for players, coaches and low motivation for referees could be a thing of the past. Drogba has the potential of achieving that! Above all, he has the love for his country. Electorates should vote for Didier to avoid a regret,” Eto’o stated.

The eagerly-anticipated elections are scheduled for September 5, 42-year-old Drogba faces Sory Diabete and Idriss Diallo.

Though he has submitted the required documents for the elections, uncertainty still looms around his chances of getting much from the September 5 vote.

Drogba represented the Ivory Coast in three World Cup tournaments and twice helped Ivory Coast to the runners-up place in the Africa Cup of Nations, Ivorians in the streets seems to have the same view about his quest for the office but the same can’t be said about electorates before the D-day.

The Chelsea legend who won four Premier Leagues, four FA Cups, three League Cups as well as scoring the winning penalty in the 2012 Champions League final win over Bayern Munich have unveiled an unbelievable plan of action should he be elected president.
