Just when the boys of coach Simplice Njiki were gaining some steam, having picked up few points that moved them to 17th after 23 match days, Feutcheu FC has hit the hammer where it hurts to send them bottom of the pile, a position they have occupied for more than half of the ongoing campaign.
AS Fortuna lost it from the third minute when Feutcheu’s go-to-guy Junior Garhagne sucked the life out of them with an early goal.
The absence of AS Fortuna’s left back Louis Tazoh and highest goalscorer Thierry Akono Akono was telling for the strugglers as they went on to produce a flat performance.
Despite AS Fortuna’s Strong finish in the game, Feutcheu FC held on for a priceless one – nil victory, courtesy of some great piece of organisation from goalkeeper Sadjo Eric and his defensive back four.
Feutcheu FC is fifth and tied with Bamboutos on 36 points while AS Fortuna have once more lost their swagger and gone straight to the 18th spot after Dragon stunned Panthere of Nde.
