Cotonsport of Garoua and Indomitable Lion Midfielder, Félix Oukiné Tcheoude, has tagged his club’s CAF Champions League pairing against Lesotho giants, Matlama FC as a game against a tough opponent.
Speaking to Kick442.com, the midfield sensation said he thinks CAF has pitted them against an opponent who maybe very tough.
“To me I think it’s a good draw, because the club is one of the big clubs in Africa…During the double confrontation we can be disappointed if we take things for granted just like seriousness can help us qualify,” Felix told Kick442.com.
He is convinced Matlama may not be as soft as they think during the competition despite their history. Instead, he sees them as a daring opponent who they have to be weary of.
Despite their poor history in the CAF Champions League competition, Cotonsport will face Matlama knowing their quality made them the most successful club in Lesotho.
The 23-year-old led Coton to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in seven years during the 2020/21 season.
Champion of Cameroon and Cameroon Cup finalist with Coton of the 2021/22 season, Felix Oukine and teammates have a huge task ahead of them.
They must beat Matlama in the first Preliminary round before meeting winner of the Royal Leopards of Eswatini vs CFTA of Madagascar.
Felix was a part of the Cotonite squad who were booted out of the CAF Confederation Cup last season at the quarter-final stage.
His side will face Bamboutos FC of Mbouda in the Cameroon Cup final in a date yet to be known.
