One of the candidates for the 2021 elections into the presidency of the South West regional bureau of the Cameroon Football Federation-FECAFOOT, Nouck Protus says the key to real development and progress of football in the region is concrete dialogue and partnership.
Speaking on his coalition with incumbent President, Dr. Ndive Thomas Molungu, the media personality and football administrator said his move is also aimed at making constructive peace in the footballing landscape in the zone.
“If you want to seek for peace, talk to your adversaries. If we want peace and development of our football, let’s talk to those stakeholders who hold different views than ours and who may even oppose our opinions.” Nouck Protus partly said.
Nouck Protus reiterated that genuine discussions and interactions with opponents on issues as vital as the FECAFOOT elections is fruitful, citing the necessity of such friendly figures in the management of the game in the area.
“When we talk to our adversaries, chances are, we convert them into our partners. An adversary who is willing to listen and change is more helpful than a friend who is a bag of flattery and adulation.” He concluded.
Nouck Protus announced his desire to partner with Dr. Ndive in the upcoming elections early this month.
The two have been partners for the close to three years the pair having served as President and Second Vice President in the South West regional bureau of the Cameroon Football Federation during the ending mandate.
Tough challenge looms.
Elections into the top office of football management in the South West region will be coming up on November 1 this year with all candidates involved expected to bring back Elite football in the region, the zone having gone club-less in the Elite 1, Elite 2 and the women’s first division, the Guinness Super League for the past five years.
Nouck and Dr. Ndive will be looking forward to pairing up against the president of former Elite 1 side, Njalla Quand Sports Academy of Limbe, Njalla Quan Junior.
These, with Dr. Ndive hoping to get the chance to complete a project he launched two years ago having come close to booking an Elite ticket in several occasions, notably with the likes of Best Stars Academy of Limbe this season.
FECAFOOT South West under Dr. Ndive has been credited for rejuvenating football in the region with the zone registering an increased number of fans turn out, ambiance and quality of football since he took over the top job from long serving President Senator Moki Charles in 2018.
His partnership with Nouck Protus who went in as candidate before penning down a coalition is expected to prove fruitful thanks to their experience and mastery of the game and the terrain with the two hoping to repeat the feat Dr. Ndive achieved over Essa Pius three years ago.
