Samuel Eto’o Fils, the recently-elected president of the Cameroon Football federation, FECAFOOT will miss this Wednesday’s first Executive Committee meeting at the Copacabana Beach Hotel in Kribi.
The African Football legend whose influence within Malian sphere can’t be overlooked is in Mali, alongside CAF boss Dr Patrice Motsepe.
Both men left Yaounde-Cameroon on Tuesday evening and are expected to meet Mali’s transitional president Colonel Assimi Goita early this morning, before heading to Doha-Qatar where their services will be needed for the CAF Super Cup final game Al Ahly SC versus Raja Casablanca.
Eto’o, the 17th of Cameroon Football federation will follow deliberations of the Executive Committee via Zoom.
The meeting is expected to be a decider in the life of the Federation and the next four years of Eto’o’s first mandate as FECAFOOT president.
The event which can be described as the first BIG GAME for the new executive will lead to the appointment of the different commission members plus the Secretary General amongst others.
The historic Executive committee meeting is the first in as many years away from Yaounde and Eto’o will follow keenly, all be it from a distance.
Eto’o recently defeated Mbombo Njoya to take over as FECAFOOT boss till 2025.
