The Cameroon Football Federation has pulled out of a four-year sponsorship deal with French kitting firm Lecoq Sportif after just three years, following a decision in June to cut ties with betting companies.
FECAFOOT has decided to end their collaboration with Lecoq Sportif who took over from Puma in June 2019.
Driven by FA boss Samuel Eto’o, the decision was reached after a review of the governing body’s satisfaction with the products and services of the kits giants.
Lecoq kitted the different national teams in the CAF and FIFA organized tournaments.
‘The Cameroon football Federation informs the national and international community that they have decided to end their agreement with Lecoq Sportif which kits the national football teams. The president of FECAFOOT intends to explore avenues to get a better partnership in the days ahead,’ the communique reads.
The rationale for the move, which will see the FA give up the previous revenue per year from Lecoq Sportif as its been in the past three years.
The timing of the move will inevitably mean the AWCON 2022 to start this weekend is the last competition in which the outgoing kids will be used.
Giants Nike and Puma who kitted the Lions for two decades before the arrival of Lecoq Sportif are favourites in the race to become the next kits sponsors.
