40-year old former Indomitable Lions of Cameroon captain Samuel Eto’o Fils has taken over the leadership of the Cameroon Football Federation after defeating incumbent President Prince Seidou Mbombo Njoya on a 43 to 31 votes score.
The African Football legend becomes the second and 17th person to lead the Cameroon’s highest Football institution, replacing Seidou who is the fourth vice president of CAF.
Reacting on the development, former Indomitable Lions’ Tchato Bill and mate to Samuel had this;
“I want to extend my warm and sincere gratitude to Sammy for his brilliant election, as head of the FA. Being a mate to him, l know and trust his leadership skills,” the current national teams Cordinator stated.
“Samuel has always shown a high sense of leadership, as captain for the indomitable lions. I know the huge challenge will be to uplift the Cameroonian football likewise bring more fans on the field,” Bill who formed part of the golden generation of 2000 that won back to back AFCON tournaments stated.
Samuel Eto’o’s victory could be a turning point for Cameroon Football as the global icon has promised a number of innovation.
The five time African footballer of the, Gold medalist at the 2000 Sidney Olympics games winner is takes over Cameroon football on the eve of the 2021 African cup of Nations.
