Thé President of the Cameroon Football Federation met today with the members of the 2009 General Assembly, major players in the crisis that has persisted in Cameroonian football for ten years. The majority present decided immediately to stop all the proceedings pending in the courts, from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to the Chamber of Conciliation and Arbitration of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of Cameroon (CCA)
If we are to believe the resolutions of today’s meeting between the president of FECAFOOT and the members of the 2009 GA, we are tempted to answer in the affirmative.
According to Africafoot.comunited.com, 44 members or their representatives out of the 76 of the 2009 executive of FECAFOOT, responded to Samuel Eto’o’s call this Thursday at the Mont-Febe hotel in Yaoundé (As a reminder, several members of this General Assembly are now deceased or abroad).
Among the renown faces, were former vice president under the Iya Mohamed era: Eugène Ekeke, Dr Francis Mveng, the Honorable Koa Luc, Marlène Emvoutou, Faustin Mbida… The work started after 3 p.m. and ended around 7:30 p.m. Eight points were on the agenda, including the most important: to examine and find solutions to the problems encountered by Cameroonian football for the past ten years.
– The members of the 2009 General Assembly decided to support Mr. Samuel Eto’o Fils in his policy of appeasement, reconciliation and reform of Cameroonian football. They therefore took note and recognized the victory of Samuel Eto’o Fils at the end of the elective General Assembly held on December 11, 2021.
– Mr. Faustin Blaise Mbida Mbida and Mr. Pierre Boujiko Yokeka were appointed representatives and spokespersons for the 2009 general assembly.
– The members of the 2009 GA decided to withdraw from all pending proceedings in all national and international jurisdictions. They also accept that the minutes of this consultation as well as the final press release signed by the designated representatives be produced before the aforementioned courts to serve and assert what is right.
– The President of the Cameroon Football Federation undertakes to consult the jurisdictional commissions on the cases of suspension of certain members of the 2009 GA resulting from the various electoral crises.

Note that some influential members of this 2009 General Assembly were conspicuous by their absence. In this case: Mballa Owono also president of the ACFAC (Association of Amateur Football Clubs of Cameroon) who is one of those who initiated the procedures at the CAS. Abdouraman Hamadou was also an absent subscriber while it was he who had carried the voice of the latter to Samuel Eto’o through a letter to him during the just ended AFCON tournament.
The choice of new representatives by the majority of the members of the 2009 GA sounds like a disavowal for the president of Etoile Filante de Garoua who, in recent years, has shone by his pugnacity in the procedures against FECAFOOT, and obtained several cancellations of mandates from presidents such as Tombi A Roko Sidiki and most recently Seidou Mbombo Njoya. Eto’o is keen on a new beginning for Cameroon football.
