Lawal Taiwo stole the ball from Abidemi Ibeh’s back pass to score the opening goal for FC Robo Queens in the 35th minute.
Two minutes later, Monday Gift scored the second goal for the only privately owned Club in the 2021 NWFL Premiership Super Six.
The victory took FC Robo Queens points tally to four from two-game after Monday’s 1-1 draw with Rivers Angels.
FC Robo Queens coach and owner, Emmanuel Orobosa Osahon after the game say his wards played to instructions.
“First of all, I give God all the glory. The girls played according to instructions. We went to Bayelsa Queens home in the course of the season and we know how they defeated us. We have to block all the loopholes and it worked very well. Some of the girls that are playing attack are now defending. I made sure that our opponents didn’t come out much so that we won’t make many mistakes. FC Robo Queens is fighting for what other clubs are fighting for. We are not here for sightseeing. We might be small but we know what we are doing. I do tell my young players that if they say they are small, they shouldn’t be small on the pitch of play.”
Bayelsa Queen’s coach, Moses Aduku opined that every team at the Super Six are strong teams and no team is a pushover.
“That is football for you. None of the teams that came here are pushovers. They got their chances and took it and my girls didn’t come to the party today. The girls have to improve more and work hard towards the next game. In the first game, there was a mistake from our central defender in terms of indecision. That is football for you. You win some and lose some.”
FC Robo Queens captain, Monday Gift who scored the second goal asserted that the win showed that his Club had good players.
“I feel very happy and very excited for the victory. We can win this Super Six if we keep doing what we have been doing by giving our best. The win means that we have good players and team.”
Bayelsa Queens’ Bidemi Ibeh posited that his team lost due to loss of concentration.
She said: “I think we lost this game due to a little lack of concentration. Losing the game doesn’t mean that we are out of the competition as we still have three games to play. I also believe that we can come from behind because we know what is at stake.”
FC Robo Queens will play Delta Queens, Edo Queens, and Sunshine Queens in their next three games.
Bayelsa Queens on the other hand will play Delta Queens, Rivers Angels, and Edo Queens.
