Former Braga Feminine forward Farida Machia has made a strong start to life as a Awa Ladies of Yaounde player in the opening games of the current season.
The 28-year-old scored her third goal of the season during her side’s 2-2 draw away at Eclair of Sa’a in the weekend.
Machia hasn’t just been scoring, the forward has been involved in creating the goals for her mates.
The tricky forward provided three of the assist in the five nil win against ASFF Diamare in match-day two of the championship, making her the most involved player in goal activities for her Club this season.
Machia has scored three and assisted three of her Clubs eight goals this season.
Her 75% involvement in the goals scored by her Club is the best ratio in the championship and perhaps tells the full story about her qualities.
Awa Ladies are currently preparing for a trip to Douala where they are expected to take on Caiman Girls, it is expected to be another opportunity for the two-capped Cameroon International to display her finest in the final third and why not help her side return to winning ways after the disappointing draw against Eclair of Sa’a last time out.
Coach Hassan Ibrahim’s team currently rank fourth in the 21-Clubs championship, two points off joint leaders Louves Minproff and Amazone FAP going into match-day four.
