Cameroonian forward Farida Machia Machia lasted 72 minutes and played a part in giving Braga the breakthrough as they punished Sporting CP Feminino three nil to reach the 2019/2020 Portuguese cup final.
Machia led the perfect attacking display which earned a 27th minute penalty for her side. Portuguese forward Vanessa Marques took the responsibility and converted the penalty at the 27th minute to give Braga the lead.
The side with signs of defensive frailties this season defended better on the day and took their lead into the changing room at half time.
Braga managed the second segment of the game better.
Coach Miguel Santos introduced Nigerian forward Uchendu Chinaza in place of Farida Machia at the 72nd as they freshen the options upfront.
At the 87 minute, the young Nigerian doubled Braga’s lead before Andriea Norton made it three nil at the 90th minutes as Braga cruise to yet again another cup final.
The win gives Machia and her mates a chance of winning a first silverware this season.
The 28-year-old former AS Green City forward had earlier told this News agency that the cup was a major target for her side.
SC Braga will face Benfica in the final of this year’s competition. Benfica recorded a four nil win in their semi final game against Fut Benfica Feminino.
