Eighty (80) players from the Far North Regional amateur clubs have become the first beneficiaries of FECAFOOT’s special covid-19 relief donation that was promised over a week ago.
The president of the Far North Regional league and member of the executive committee, Boubakary Belo presided over the donation ceremony to four amateur clubs from the region.
Kick442.com had reported that amateur players in all 10 regions of Cameroon will receive a special donation from the country’s football governing body, FECAFOOT.
The Adamawa and Northern regions who have already received their donations will be the next regions in the distribution exercise. The handing over of the gifts will take place at the various regional League headquarters.
Elite one and two players of both the men and women’s League received financial support from the federation in April 2020. 25 players and staff of each elite one and two clubs with an additional 20 players and officials of the women’s League clubs were granted 50,000FCFA,30,000FCFA and 25,000FCFA respectively.
The amateur Championship in Cameroon has been annuled after the executive bureau of FECAFOOT decided to put an end to the domestic leagues. Only the elite one, elite two and women’s League had champions declared.
About 220 amateur clubs and 4400 players are concerned in the nation wide donation exercise.
