Fans of one of the most popular Pan-African online Sports portal Kick442.com in Cameroon have supported reigning champions of Cameroon Elite one championship PWD Social Club of Bamenda in their quest for a better result in the return leg of CAF Champions League.
Fans and followers of the online sports news agency met players of PWD of Bamenda in the changing room after their champions league debut game against Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa in Limbe on Sunday.
The group offered moral support and financial support to the team obtained during a three-day campaign organized in kick442.com WhatsApp forum where contributions were made to support both PWD of Bamenda and Cotonsports of Garoua in the 2020-2021 CAF interclub competitions.
After PWD’s encounter Sunday November 29, 2020 against Kaiser Chiefs, some members of the kick442.com team, accompanied by former PWD and Indomitable Lions of Cameroon player Che Sampson and former TKC Player and current YOSA coach Nkabyo Martin plus barrister Aloysius Awah of the Seunang Awah Law Firm in Limbe of handed a financial package to captain Mbah Louis of PWD.
While handing the package to the team, the crew offered words of encouragement to the team on behalf of kick442.com and its followers plus sympathizers.
Before then, drinks and some cookies were provided to kick442.com fans and others watching the game.
Cotonsport will receive their own support after the games against FC Sokode of Togo in Garoua this Sunday.
This is the first time an online portal is taking up such initiative not just in writing about the Club and its players but also in supporting financially to enhance progress.
Kick442.com has been existing for just under two years now with over 10000 followers. The forum has over 200 participants with a collection of club presidents, coaches, players, investors, journalists, football lovers.
Besides providing news content on African football kick442.com is aimed at discussing football marketing and supportive ideas to better football in the country and Africa as a whole.
This portal operates in not less than seven African countries with representatives in Cameroon, Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, Malawi, Sudan and South Africa.
Members of the platform have pledged their undiluted support to PWD and Cotonsport in their return leg games which will be played this weekend.
During the outbreak of the CoronaVirus pandemic, Kick442.com and a handful of Clubs also supported footballers in Limbe, Tiko and Buea with kits to combat the spread of the pandemic.
PWD are away in South Africa against Kaizer Chiefs hoping to overturn a one-nil deficit while Cotonsport returns home to face Unisport of Sokode on Sunday in Garoua keeping a two-nil advantage.
