South Africa’s football fans took to social media to show their displeasure after their team suffered a 1-2 loss to the Chipolopolo of Zambia in an international friendly on Sunday.
John Matlosa said:
“I don’t see any sign of change in this group of South African players. They’re not taking games seriously.
We had good coaches before nothing happened. Leave Molefi.
Until we criticize players nothing will change in this country, our players are too soft they don’t show anger. They don’t show any sign of wanting to achieve something.”
“Serve them right, I told you last time that people hate the truth. You hate Junior Kanye because he speaks it, what did Kanye say, South Africa is overrated for nothing, they used to be the best 24 years ago, now they are useless. They can do better against Namibia, Lesotho, Mozambique, not Nigeria because those countries are too good for it, a wise man once said Bunch of losers.”
John Foster, another South African football fan commented on Facebook.
Ephraim Ironrock Mokatyana blamed the coach for Bafana Bafana’s loss to fellow COSAFA rival.
“Like really where did SAFA get this Molefe coach guy ……Anyone with his record ….SAFA can’t get rid of Jordan Vele…Why politicians in our soccer you people have no shame in what you are doing. You have destroyed our national football because of your greedy fat cats.”
Two goals in three minutes by Zambia’s Kelvin Kapamba and Chaniza Zulu stunned Bafana Bafana in the friendly international match at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg.
Keagan Dolly had opened the scoring for the home side following a delicate pass from Percy Tau on the 78th minute. But Zambia responded almost immediately when Kapamba got a pass inside the box before rifling an unstoppable shot past the otherwise steady Dareen Keet on the 83rd minute. Two minutes later, the comeback was complete as Bafana Bafana were caught napping at the back and Zulu had the simplest of tasks of slotting the ball home.
South Africa played out a 1-1 draw with Namibia earlier this week before this latest defeat and will play Sao Tome and Principe next month
Zambia on the other had a 1-0 win over Malawi before suffering a 2-1 loss to Kenya on October 9. They will play Botswana next month.
