Istanbul FA maintained their unbeaten record in the ongoing Fako Divisional League after picking up their fourth victory in the championship against Botafogo AFC.
The first round of the Divisional Championship concluded this Tuesday with Istanbul beaten Botafogo 4-0 at the BGS School Field.
Goals from Nadel Tabot, Atubeh Thierry, Leonard Ngeh Nzong and Collins Ajuan ensured that Istanbul FA came out victorious in the encounter. The victory maintains Istanbul at the top of Pool C after the first round and on course to finish top of their group.
It should be recalled that Istanbul FA defeated Fako United 2-0 on matchday four with both sides at that time still unbeaten in the championship. However, it was Fako united who faulted while Istanbul ascended.
It has been a terrific start to the Divisional League for Istanbul, who have the ambition of playing the Regional League next campaign, and with the way they are going, it would not be long for the side to be promoted to the Regional League.
Istanbul FA is currently three points ahead of second-placed Al Jazeera SA, with the latter having 9 points. Al Jazeera won its last game of the first round by 1-0 against Fako United.
Istanbul FA 12 points +9 goals
Al Jazeera SA 9 points +4 goals
Fako United 6 points +0 goals
Babungo FC 3 points -1 goals
Botafogo AFC 0 points -12 goals
