Fabrice Joseph Ebogo Ondoa has sealed his move and unveiled at newly promoted Lithuanian top-flight side FK Auda where he had been on tryout for the past two weeks.
The 2017 AFCON winner who had been without a club since departure from Istra at the end of last season has penned a two-year deal at the club.
The move is likely to end the player’s long spell of lack of regular football as she could be a starter at his new workplace.
Ondoa, 25 has also played for Gimnastic, Sevilla Atletico, Pobla de Mafumet FC and Barcelona B amongst others.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper joined Ostende in the summer of 2017 from Spanish side Sevilla on recommendation of the then Sports Director Hugo with whom he won the AFCON for Cameroon but failed to get game time and it has been so since then.
Unfortunately, Ondoa hasn’t had a run of games between the sticks since leaving Spain in 2017 thus comprising the national team opportunities for one of the stars of the Lions lightening of Lebreville 2017. In Ondoa’s absence, his cousin Andre Onana has been a regular for Cameroon while the likes of Simon Omossola and Devis Epassy have also had a few games under their belt.
Ondoa has represented his clubs on 27 occasions in just over four seasons explaining why he was left out of Cameroon’s 2021 AFCON squad.
The former UEFA Youth league best goalkeeper has somehow failed to match his heroics for country at Club level.
FK Auda and probably the Ondoa Renaissance begins with the new Lithuanian.
