Players of Cameroon League 1 side UMS of Loum have been thrown out of their base at Loum.
kick442.com understands officials of “Hotel La Reserve” decided to close room doors and the main gate of the institution serving as the home for some of the club’s players because UMS officials have over two months accrued unpaid rents.
11 players of the club who were based at the hostel returned from Yaounde on Wednesday night after UMS game against Eding Sport FC to realize that their homes have been closed.
“We tried finding out from the guard and he told us the gates and doors have to be closed as they got orders from above to do so.We are stranded and have been moving from place to place in search of where to pass the night” a player whose name we decided not to publish told kick442.com on Thursday evening.
UMS of Loum didn’t have a regular training session in Loum on Thursday, the club is still to make an official statement about the current situation and the lack of a training session on Thursday.
UMS host Astres of Douala in round 15 of the Cameroon League 1 championship this Sunday in Loum.
There has been signs of slowing down in investments at the club since after the club’s “financial muscle” Pierre Kwemo got arrested for undisclosed reasons earlier this year.
