Cameroon’s leading striker in Europe this season Nchout Njoya Ajara has told kick442.com that she is happy that the team is getting new players and Competition in the squad ahead of the the World Cup.
Speaking from Norway on Monday the In-form Lionesses who camped together with Michaela Abam ahead of the 2018 Women’s AFCON in Ghana and spent time with 21 year old Abam said expect Cameroon to tick at the upcoming World Cup and know Abam has quality from their time together just like the other players she is still to meet.
“They are selected because they deserve the Coach’s trust, I wish them welcome in the family hoping we’ll have a good run at the world together” Ajara told the online portal.
Cameroon named a provisional squad of 26 players on Saturday including the Lionesses still to make their competitive debut for Fatherland. Michaela Abam of Paris Fc, Estelle Johnson of Sky Blue FC; former US Internationals at Youth level and FC Montpeillier’s Mayi Kith Easther a former Youth International for Canada are ladies still to fight for a prize in the Green,Red and Yellow outfit.
Abam,a current steiker/midfielder for Paris FC featured for Cameroon in pre-AFCON games against Zambia and Ivory Coast and scored thrice in the two games but was an unused squad player in the tournament due to administrative constraints that were completely regularise weeks back.
“Abam has the good qualities to help the team,she is a good player” Ajara added
Photos of Estelle Johnson in the airport have been trending on social media this Monday just like that of Abam and mates including Marie Aurelle Awona in an airbus with Cameroonians interpreting that the Lionesses are all heading home for a camp ahead of their mid-month trip to Spain for another World Cup preparatory camp.
All of the Lionesses invited for the camp are expected to be at FECAFOOT on Tuesday morning except Norway based duo of Njoya Ajara and Ejangue Augustine plus Russian based Aboudi Onguene who have all been permitted to join the rest of the squad by the 15th of May.
