A member of the AS Vita Club delegation currently in Cameroon for the CAF Champions League first leg game has told kick442.com that coach Florent Ibenge’s absence from the club’s first leg against UMS of Loum is approved by the club.

Andra-Nicola Nsolo who is in charge of communications for the club told the online portal that coach Ibenge had asked for 1 month off the club’s activities because he wanted to rest after the AFCON. Management granted the coach’s request meaning he is off until the 11th July 2019.

Therefore coach Ibenge is expected to resume work on the 12th of August 2019.

He is our head coach,he requested to stay away for a month, to rest properly after a very demanding last 5 years managing our club and the national Team. He assisted us in preparation for this game but from a distance,we are sure he will be on the bench in Kinshasa when UMS comes to town”.

Florent Ibenge stepped down from the DRC head coach position this week after 5 years on the job but didn’t mention leaving AS Vita in his official communication.

Deputy Coach Raoul will manage the team against UMS this Sunday in Yaounde.
