AS Vita Club of Kinshasa are back in the land which provided arguably the best goalkeeper in the Club’s history.
12 years ago, the multiple Congolese Champions came to Cameroon and took away Lukong Nelson Bongaman to Kinshasa. Till date, few months away from his 40th birthday, Lukong remains the Club’s most reliable man between the sticks.
As part of preparations for Lukong’s retirement Kick442.com can exclusively report that 28-year-old Cameroon international goalkeeper Maxime Loïc Feudjou Nguegang is edging closer to a move to the Congolese Club from Union Sportive of Douala.
Feudjo made a surprised return to the Cameroon top-flight Championship in the second of last season helping Union Sportive of Douala out of the difficulties of the relegation.
This Pan-African Sports News Agency understands AS Vita are in the market for two cover keepers for Lukong, and Feudjo is one of the shot stoppers they want to try signing.
Our team is monitoring the situation. We will bring details once we have it but for now Loïc is expected in Kinshasa in the days ahead for tryouts.
Vita are in a transition period following the election of a new president in Mme Bestine Kazadi.
Last season’s runners-up in the LINAFOOT, Vita Club are one of Congo’s flag bearers in next season’s CAF Champions League.
Strange enough Vita Club recruited Lukong at same age as Loïc today.
