Cameroon Elite One giants Cotonsport of Garoua have officially begun talks to sign 29-year-old Cameroon international Jacques Zoua Daougari, kick442.com can exclusively report.
This Pan-African Sports News Agency has information on good authority that the former FC Basel and Hamburg forward is currently in advanced negotiations to join the Cotonites on a short-term contract and boast the Club’s attacking options.
This portal understands the Club has tabled a lucrative offer to the player and talks are underway.
The 2017 AFCON winner and participant in not less than three editions of the event including the 2019 event in Egypt is free agent and the Cotonites are keen on securing his services to add quality to their frontline.
Zoua is no stranger at the Club, he previously played for the Club and won a couple of titles before moving to Europe
Zoua spent four years at the Club before leaving for FC Basel in 2009 after winning a Cup of Cameroon title and the domestic championship on three occasions.
Last month, Zoua featured in an amateur football game with the rest of the squad current squad of players at Cotonsport.
Kick442.com understand the player could officially join the Club within the next two weeks and be available for the rest of their pre-season activities and the competitions when they kick off.
The native of Garoua has represented ten Clubs in a globe-trotting career that has taken him from Cameroon to Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, France, Belgium, Romania and possibly back in Cameroon in 11 years.
His last European Club was Romania side FC Viitorul Constanța till September 2019.
The former Kaiserslautern and Ajaccio goal poacher has won 26 caps for the indomitable Lions of Cameroon including starting in the final of the 2017 competition in Gabon.
Earlier this week, Cotonsport secured the services of former Cameroon Elite Two championship top scorer Lionel Abate Etoundi from Serbian side OFK Zarkovo.
