Newly appointed coach Agbor Emmanuel has trained with his new side two times already as his team prepares to face bottom of the group, Mount Cameroon FC in what many have described as ”a do or die game”.
Reporters met with the coach during the second day of work and he uttered the following concerning the immediate future of the club :”football firstly is something that I love, it is something that I have been doing from childhood. First as a player, I played football for long, now I have been coaching for 7 to 8 years”.
The gaffer is no new comer to this level, “I started with CINYODEV Football Academy Buea and this year I decided to be at home_but remaining at home does not mean that you don’t love the game”.
Coach Emmanuel may have had a tough time not participating in football for this long as his visits to the stadium suggests-” I normally come and watch guys playing and I’ve seen the situation we find ourselves in, It happens in football. At times things don’t go the way you want it but now we have to see how we can push it up, calculate the remaining matches and see how we can work_ to try to find weaknesses and ameliorate them and get results”.
The former CINYODEV ‘conductor’ is already working on the Waterloo of the team, which is the lack of cutting edge in front of goal; “now we need victory that’s why you see in our training session everything we do is finishing for now. We are working towards goal scoring because you cannot win a match without scoring. This is my second day of training, we have basically been practicing how to shoot and trying to see how we can touch our finishing to be near perfection so that we can get a little chance in the game and utilize it. A football game does not necessarily mean that you have numerous chances before you score, you can get 1 or 2 chances and get the goal_at the end of the day victory is ours, reasons why we all are trying to see how our finishing would be a reality in subsequent matches”.
When asked about the stakes of the game and how prepared coach Emmanuel was going to get going against a lackluster MT Cameroon, he said: ” this is football, football we do our best and God does the rest. We have prayed to God to hear our prayers and come to our aid because I have seen the boys_ they are good players and I’ve seen how they are playing, they have been training well. It is not a team that has collapsed. Maybe there is something wrong which is the finishing because football is all about how you end it when you have the ball, so, we are working on that and am seeing positive results from the training which I have had in these two days and I believe tomorrow the gates will be opened”.
Coach Agbor Emmanuel is optimistic though he took over Buea United FC with a bleak future “definitely we don’t have any other thing to do if we have to go to the mini-interpools we have to win so why do I have to doubt the team?”, he added ” as I told you earlier I met a good team, I met boys that are willing to play, that’s why I said I didn’t meet a team that is down, rather, they have a good team. The previous problem they had was finishing and that’s where I have focused and I believe from the results I have seen in training, victory may be ours”.
The experienced coach had his say about verbal additions and subtractions in the team by outsiders:”people can say anything in football, They all count. It is at the long run;look at Chelsea today, they have sorted the problems the coach had, all the troubles that happened; at the long run Sarri took the Euroupa league-who is laughing now? Whatever they say, their mouths are bound to speak good and bad”.
The newly appointed head coach pleaded with the fans to come massively and support their darling club, Buea United; “what I am saying is that people should come out tomorrow. The population that loves Buea united should come out tomorrow, give the boys support_we need a lot of it.At times like this it is not only the boys playing it is people around the team push them to victory”.
If all and sundry goes well the man at the helm promises the fans some joy “ I am promising that we would win the game in Jesus name!”. The game against MT Cameroon is going to played at the Molyko Omnisport stadium on Saturday June 1st.
