Yong sports academy on Friday August second, appointed Nkabyo Martin as their new head coach.
Kick442.com caught up with the former Tiko United and PWD lead trainer in an exclusive interview, as he makes known his ambitions for YOSA this season. Nkabyo revealed that “I have a lot to give to football in this region. I have been in this house for some times now. I was the first coach to take YOSA to the interpools when they were created in 2004. It is like my house. I was there at the beginning, and I think it is time to move it one step forward”.
Nkabyo worked as assistant under Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso, and testified that it will be difficult for Ndoumbe’s legacy to be beaten. “Ndoumbe Bosso has left a legacy here for the past nine years. Ndoumbe Bosso already took the team to a certain height, so it is a bigger challenge for me taking it one step further. I am somebody who likes challenges, that’s the main reasons why I accepted to take the job, and I will try my best to see that we take the team where it belongs”, said Nkabyo.
YOSA finished fourth in pool B of the Championship last term, and missed out on a place in the title Playoffs. With a new technical bench under the leadership of Nkabyo Martin, the management of the team will be expecting YOSA to challenge for titles in the upcoming season. With his experience and a reach support staff, Nkabyo Martin who has grown up in the Northwest region, knows just what it takes to satisfy the fans of the Bamenda boys and is largely considered by many pundits, as a perfect fit for the job.
