The dream of every football player is to win laurels for his or her club. This is not an exception with Royal Queens’ Vera Samuel. She said that it would be a thing of joy for Royal Queens to make it to the Super 4 in their debut Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season.
“I am okay with the current abridged league format. At least it is better than last season where we only played 6 games. Now we can play up to 14 games which will be good for players and coaches. My target next season is to see Royal Queens in Super 4 lifting the trophy.”She told kick442.
Royal Queens gained promotion to the NWFL Premiership with 100% clean sheet record during 2019 NWFL Pro-League Playoffs ahead of Pelican Stars. The club will host Delta Queens in their debut Group B game. The Palace Queens will trade tackles with the likes of defending champions, Rivers Angels, Ibom Angels, Osun Babes, FC Robo Queens, Heartland Queens, Adamawa Queens and Delta Queens in Group B. Vera Samuel is of the view that the group is not going to be tough for Royal Queens.
“For Group B, well, I will say it is not going to be tough for Royal Queens because the players I see here are ever ready for any task. With the standard of players here, we are going to achieve so many great things this season.”
The Manchester United fan, Vera Samuel still nurtures the dream of playing for the Manchester Club in the future.
“I am a big fan of Manchester United. In fact I already see myself with them, so no need dreaming.” She concluded.
Vera Samuel recently moved from Abia Angels to Royal Queens and was hoping to help her side have a fairytale debut season.
