Rivers Angels player, Hannah Yusuf is happy and elated to be invited to the Nigeria Women’s U-17 Football team camp ahead of their India 2020 FIFA U-17 Women’s Word Cup First Round Qualifying match against Guinea.

“I am very happy for the invitation. I have always nurtured the dream of playing for the national team after featuring for Rivers Angels last season in the Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL). This is indeed a plus for me and a boost for my career. I am so happy about it.”

Hannah Yusuf was previously invited to the U-20 camp two years ago and hope to take her chance this time with the U-17 side with the aim of qualifying and playing at India 2020 World Cup.
“This is not my first time with the national team. Two (2) years ago I was in U-20 camp. This time around I want to take my chance and be successful with the U-17 side so that my name will be on the final list of those that will make it to the qualifier against Guinea.” She told kick442.

She throws more light into her performance last season stating that injury hindered her from achieving her personal targets and hoping to do more with the national team.
“My target last season was to play a lot of league and cup games in order to help my team achieve our set goal in every way I can. Unfortunately, I could not meet the target because of injury so I had less playing time. To be noticed by the national team coaches and invited gladdens my heart.”

Coach Bankole Olowookere (Assistance coach 1), Queendoleen Akpan (Assistant Coach 2) and Mohammed Ndanusa (Goal keepers coach) commenced intensification of work before selection of squad that will confront Guinea with first leg set to hold in Conakry on Sunday, 1st March, 2020, and the return leg in Nigeria a fortnight after.
