Cameroon born US-raised defender, Estelle Laura Johnson,30 is feeling at ease with her international teammates barely few weeks since she was called up to the Lionesses, coach Alain Djeumfa’s Sky Blue FC defender is feeling relaxed in the Den.
The center-half needed just 45 minutes in national colours against Center Regional female Football team to convince the gaffer, getting the nod in the final list of 23 that was made public by the Lionesses coach Alain Djeumfa.
Kick442.com took interest in how quickly the Sky Blue FC defender has adapted to her new teammates and environment in such a short period of time – Estelle Johnson in her own words confessed: “our preparation has been going on well, we have been working extremely hard and now we will be hopeful. We face Canada first, I know a tone of players in that team because they play in the same league as I do, so I know that if we continue to work hard – it would be a good game for us. I think that one thing that makes us great is off the field our chemistry continues to grow and we continue to build relationships, off the field so, as we also do on it”.
Group E on paper seems a pretty fair group for the Lionesses but overtime, teams like: Canada, Netherlands and New Zealand have metamorphosed to solid teams difficult to break down even by the so called favorites.
Hopefully, Estelle Johnson put’s her knowhow into play when Cameroon face Canada in their opening game to take place on June 10th in the country of love (France).
