Rwandan Premier League outfit Kiyovu SC have appointed 45-year old Burundian trainer Etienne Ndayiragije as their head coach with immediate effect.
The former Azam SC and Vital’O replaces Olivier Karekezi who was sacked last week following a streak of unsatisfactory results.
“An agreement has been reached with Ndayiragije to coach our club in the next two years. He’s got an impressive coaching experience and we hope he will help the club to achieve a lot. He will continue to work with the available coaching staff until the end of the season,” a club statement on Wednesday read.
The former Mukura VS midfielder returns to Rwanda as a trainer having garner experience as a coach especially in Tanzania where he also coached the national team.
The Ndayiragije two-year era at the helm of the Kigali giants starts this Saturday away to Gasogi FC.
Cameroonian attacking duo Karim Mbazoo and Armel Djimmoe are on the books of club and are expected to play a greater role in the Club’s fortunes under the Burundian coach.
