FC Edmonton outshot Forge FC 13 to 8 and had four shots on target as compared to two from Forge FC, the Hamilton side dominated in possession at 58.8 per cent and scored two late goals, one from Cameroonian defender Esua Jeannot Sama to back home their first win of the 2021-2022 Canadian Premier league season.
The Eddies were made to sweat for their first win as Forge FC frustrated most of their attacking efforts until the final minutes in the at IG Field in Winnipeg.
Esua started for the first time in two games this season as the host aimed at recovering from their opening day defeat.
Though they dominated the opening segment of the game they failed to take their chances but Coach Alan Koch and his boys kept pushing hoping to catch the organized visitors on the break.
Substitutes Soria and Sama finally did the job in their the final minutes of the contest.
Spanish defender Ramon Soria who came on as a 59th minute substitute for Roberto Avila scored in the 87th minute to put the host ahead.
It was soon two nil when another substitute defender Esua scored a wonder goal from outside the box second in the 94th minute to seal the victory and the three points.

FC Edmonton now have three points from two games this season while Sama has one goal in two appearances.
24-year old Esua, once of Cameroon’s Under-17 and 23 teams has been a hit since joining the Canadian club.
FC Edmonton will confront York United FC in their next league game on Sunday in match-day three of the championship.
