Sky Blue FC has recorded a two nil victory over her former side, Houston Dash, in their third outing in the 2020 NWSL Cup challenge, can report.

First half goals from Paige Monaghan and Nahomi Kawasumi in the 17th and 34th minutes of the first segment of the game respectively was all Sky Blue FC needed to record their first victory of the tournament.

The Blues came into the game knowing there was no margin for error.

Johnson and her mates defended properly and dominanted the game, preventing their opponents from testing goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan.

At full time, manager Freya Coombe was the happier of the two gaffers, as her side didn’t just win but played well with a 55% ball possession.

The victory takes Sky Blue FC to the second spot on the log of 8 Clubs with four points and five points away from leaders North Carolina Courage.

The top two sides clash on Tuesday July 14th in what will be a true test of character for Estelle Johnson and her Sky Blue FC mates.
