Nigeria’s trusted long jumper, Ese Brume capped her return to the diamond league with a great performance which saw her finish second overall in Doha on Friday.
After jumping 6.71 which saw her make the final three behind Ukraine’s Maryana Bekh-Romanchuk and Sweden’s Khaddi Sagnia, she started the final jump with a benchmark of 6.68, but the Ukrainian bettered her last jump with a 6.91 to move from second to first and win.
Khaddi Sagnia settled for 3rd with 6.55m after she couldn’t improve on her last jump of 6.85 which put her first earlier.
World Championship, bronze medalist Brume will seek to leap on this performance as a springboard to better things to come this year.
