Banyana Banyana of South Africa coach, Desiree Ellis has been named the Best Coach of the group stage of the 2022 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) holding in Morocco.
The former South African captain guided her team to consecutive group stage wins against holders and nine-time Champions, Super Falcons of Nigeria (2-1), Burundi (3-1), and Botswana (1-0).
The team top Group C with a maximum of nine points after three games with six different goal scorers; Thembi Kgatlana, Jermaine Seoposenwe, Hildah Magaia, Amogelang Motau, Linda Mothlalo, and Nthabiseng Majiya.
South Africa goalkeeper, Andile Dlamini also emerged as the best goalkeeper in the group stage.

ASFAR FC and Atlas Lionesses of Morocco captain, Ghizlane Chebbak was named the Best Player of the group stage.
Chebbak is currently the top goal scorer of the tournament with three goals ahead of six players.
She will battle for the top scorer prize alongside the likes of Rasheedat Ajibade (Nigeria), Grace Chanda (Zambia), Sabrine Ellouzi (Tunisia), Uchenna Kanu (Nigeria), Sandrine Niyonkuru (Burundi), and Refilwe Tholakele (Botswana), all with two goals.
