The Nigerian national team striker, Ebere Orji joined the Swedish second tier (Elitettan) side, IFK Kalmar from first tier (Damallsvenskan) side, Linkopings.
After her new move, she wants to help her new team with goals and lots of goals.
The 28-year-old came to Linköpings FC before last year’s OBOS Damallsvenskan and got off to a goalscoring start. Five goals and an assist during the initial six rounds contributed to her being named player of the month.
But the wind turned and during the final part of the season, she sat on the bench a lot.
“In football, you sometimes do not find your role or form and it was tough for a while. But it was good for me that it went a little worse. I learned a lot and I think it allows me to take the next step in my football career. This season I will not let that happen but I want to be good and contribute all the time.” says Orji in an interview with Barometern.
The goal-oriented striker signed a two-year contract with IFK Kalmar. In the two and a half years that Ebere Orji previously played in Elitettan (with Mallbacken and Umeå IK), she has been noted for 26 goals and 17 assists.
“I have the experience and believe that this season will be very good. I know what it takes and want to play as much as I can and score as many goals as I can to help Kalmar be at the top of the table. I will score a lot of goals, I can score a lot of goals and I want to score goals in every match, that is a goal I have.” she concluded.
