The head coach of Aigle Royal of the Menoua Alain Roger Seme, has insisted that the El Pacha is ready to replay their game against FAP of Yaounde, if need be.
There was uncertainty to if Aigle will take part in the title playoffs, following a decision from the homologation and disciplinary commission asking for a replay of their match day Seven game against AS FAP of Yaounde, a game which Aigle had initially won 4#1.
Though the decision from the homologation commission did not mention while the game was to be replayed, our findings revealed that FAP filed in a complain that the weather conditions were not favorable for the game to hold, making the pitch not practicable.
Another decision later from the president of the homologation commission, Achet Nagnigni Martin Luther King, suspended the previous decision of the said commission, following an appeal from Aigle, with the case now to hold on July 14.
This therefore gives room for Aigle to take part in the playoffs, while waiting for the eventually outcome of their appeal.
Speaking during his pre_match press conference at the Roumde Adjia stadium on Friday, Coach Alain Roger Seme said his team is prepared for any possible replay of the game.
“At first we thought it was a qualification protest, but later we discovered that the opposite team (FAP) was Complaining that the weather conditions were not favorable. I stayed calm because the weather conditions were for both teams,” Coach Seme said.
“I was not worried because I know that our president is a lawyer and I think he took the necessary measures for an appeal. We also prepared our players in such a way that if it was decided that we should go and play the game on a neutral ground, we will go comeback and continue with the playoffs.”
“If it happens that we should replay the game, we will replay it, because it is not us deciding. But now we will continue the competition, while waiting for the homologation commission to make the final decision,” the gaffer added.
The El Pacha, who finished second in pool B, will take on pool A winners Lausanne SA of Yaounde at the Roumde Adjia stadium this Saturday as from 6:30pm. Aigle has been in the inferior league since they were relegated from the top flight in 2018.
The team has well mobilized in their quest to return to the top tier.
“I have been at Aigle since 2016. I have worked with coach Ndoko, Coach Kamdem, coach Birwe and others. So I Know the environment well,” Alain Roger Seme spoke confidently ahead of Saturday’s game.
Indomitable lions and former Aigle forward Léandre Gaël Tawamba Kana, is amongst the hundreds of Aigle supporters, who are in Garoua, to push their team to victory. The Al-Taawoun FC striker attended their training session on Friday, and used the opportunity to give some encouraging words to the players of his former club.
