Foncha Street FC of Bamenda has beaten Gazelle FA of Garoua 4#1, in a day 13 game of the MTN Elite two championship in pool A. The game was played at the University of Bamenda stadium, on Tuesday afternoon.
A first half brace from Ibrahim Nsoyuri, had put Foncha Street two goals up against a Gazelle side who came into the game ranked second in Pool A.
Gazelle FA made a series of substitutions in the second segment, with Amadou Mahamat, Thierry Djedouboum, and Hadji Issa coming in as reinforcement.
Just after an hour mark, star forward Ibrahim Nsoyuri raced through Gazelles defense and was fault in the penalty area by Rodrigue Ndongo. Cheson Loibinho stepped up and converted the resulting penalty to put Foncha Street three goals up.
Few minutes later, it was Cheson Loibinho’s turn to supply Ibrahim Nsoyuri with a back heel pass, as the latter fired the ball pass goalkeeper Housseni Ousmanou to make it four_nil for the home side.

Gazelle benefited from a defensive howler from Foncha Street to pull one back through Hadji Issa.
With the game ending 4#1 in favor of Foncha Street FC, it becomes the first time the team has scored more than three goals in an Elite game.
It is also the first time Foncha Street has won three consecutive wins in the league, since gaining promotion in 2019. Before Tuesday’s game, they were on a run of two consecutive wins against AS Matelots and Stade FC of Bertoua
The North West outfit has now survived the relegation battle, with two more matches at hand. For Gazelle FA, they stay second in Pool A, and their playoff hopes still alive.
