Newly promoted Gazelle FA of Garoua and Lausanne of Yaounde, recorded important wins in their Elite two debuts over the weekend, while Rangers FC of Bafut secured an important point away at Unisport.
Gazelle, Lausanne and Rangers all gained promotion to the Cameroon second tier championship last season, after emerging winners of their various pools at the National interpools hosted by the cities of Limbe and Bafoussam.
Stade of Bertoua 0#1 Gazelle FA
In their Elite two debut on Sunday, Gazelle recorded a one_zero win over Stade FC of Bertoua, at the Bertoua municipal stadium.
Ekotto Duamel scored the lone goal of the game to secure important three points for coach Alioum Kada’s side.
Dynamo 0#2 Lausanne
Still in Pool A of the MTN Elite two championship, Lausanne FA of Yaounde thrashed Dynamo of Douala 2#0, to temporarily move top of the pool. Goals from captain Helanga and Adzongo, were enough to secure Lausanne their first three points of the season.
AS Matelots vs Lion Blessé (postponed)
Leopard 2#1 AS FAP
Leopard Sportive of Douala had beaten AS FAP of Yaounde in the Elites two opener, played in Douala on March 26, 2022.
Sama Tandjong scored late in the game, to win it all for Leopard, after Njoh had previously cancelled out Mbiagoup Bobolo Fernand’s goal that put AS FAP ahead.
Ngoundere FC 1#2 Aigle
Aigle Royal of the the menoua went to Ngoundere, saw and conquered Ngoundere FC. Goals from Tiba Tiba and Nlend Anisse ensured that Aigle kick starts the season on a good footing.
Unisport 0#0 Rangers FC
Unisport of Bafang were held to a goalless draw at home by Elite two new boys Rangers FC of Bafut.
In what was their Elite two debut, Frankline Anumewa’s Rangers stayed solid throughout and made sure that the left the at the Ngadjui Kamga Gaston municipal stadium in Bafang, on Sunday afternoon with a point, as they head to Ngoundere, where they will face Ngoundere FC this midweek in their day two game.
Foncha Street FC of Bamenda was exempted from match day one.
