Astres of Douala have picked up their first point of the 2020-2021 Cameroon Elite One championship at home to APEJES of Mfou this Sunday at the Bepanda Omnisport Annex I Stadium.
Both sides came into the game needing a result as it had not been the desired start of the season.
A good Astres side yet to get going with two in both outings so far had to right the wrongs of the past against an APEJES side that was fresh from defeating Canon Yaounde.
Coach Anicet Mbarga Foe of Astres made personel changes just like his colleague Ndongo Emma in the opposition dugout but nothing changed in terms of the scoreline.
Both sides wasted a number of chances in the first segment and at the break it was still goalless in the balanced encounter.
Astres returned for the second segment more daring but on multiple occasions, a well-structured APEJES backline with Apam and Jules Kotto at their prime stopped them.
The game ended on a goalless score, a result which favour the host who get their first point of the season though they will have loved all three points.
