YAFOOT FC’s Teenage sensational goalkeeper Fansu Ismael and luck stood between Stade Renard of Melong and another away win in match-day 7 of the Cameroon Elite One championship.
Starting between the sticks for the first time this term, the 16-year old who camped in January with coach Anicet Mbarga Foe’s Under-17 Lions team looked assuring all afternoon.
YAFOOT FC came into the fixture on a desperate run of six defeats in six games but keen on righting the wrongs as indicated by the number of changes made by coach Cyrile Billong in the starting XI.
The visitors as expected drew first blood in the 37th minute when sweeper Franck Donald Dipita left Fansu Ismael with nothing to do as he headed a fine ball into the net for YAFOOT FC 0-1 Stade Renard.
Though Renard came close again before the break, the woodwork saved the host twice thus leaving the score at one-nil at the break.
YAFOOT FC returned for the second segment playing their best football of season though both sides had to deal with the heavy downpour in Mbankomo-Cameroon.
YAFOOT FC came back looking better in the second segment and finally got the reward for their efforts when skipper Mbengue leveled scores from a well taken corner.
Ismael made two telling saves in the final minutes of the encounter to take his saves tally on the day to four and win at least a point for the newly-promoted side.
YAFOOT remains bottom of group B but get their first point of the championship this season.
Stade Renard host Union Sportive of Douala next while YAFOOT FC are away to leaders AS Fortuna.
