Njichu Clovis who is arguably one of Cameroon’s best referee, has been elected president of the Cameroon Association of Referees (ACAF).
He was voted recently in Bamenda in an election that saw him defeat incumbent president, Asang Martin and new comer Acha Muta.
Njichu Clovis scored an overwhelming twenty votes during the elections.
Quizzed on why he decided to run for the position, Njichu Clovis was categorical.
“My main reason is to bring a new light in the domain of refeering and help referees in mezam to a higher height”, Njichu Clovis told kick442.com.
Referees in Mezam division have been facing a lot of challenges and Njichu Clovis believes that his election to the position of president will help change the status of referees in the division and help promote talents.
He said he took over the challenge because of the numerous complaints from referees.
“I took this challenge because referees in the region have been crying foul per their savings that were never accounted for and mismanagement of funds”.
