PWD social football club of Bamenda has been beaten 1#0 by Bamboutos FC of Mbouda in leagues opener at the MTN Municipal Arena in Mbouda.
Serge Rodrigue Koupit Mani’s 70th minute lone goal gave all three points to the Magwa boys, ending PWD’s joy and hope for a point as they begin their race in the championship.
Launched by the Magwa Boys from center referee Nkamba Drid Christian’s whistle, the game unfolded in a very tensed rhythm, seeing Ngwang Brian of PWD picking up the first yellow card within four minutes of play.
So much pressure from either sides mounted on the opponent, the first interesting action came 10 minutes of play, Samin Billy in a attempt to by pass two Bamboutos midfielders, executed poorly picking up yellow for felling his opponent.
A glaring chance came knocking for PWD within 20 minutes into the first segment Zanga Ulrich one on one with goalkeeper Patrick Lionel, failed to give PWD the lead. Immediately the Magwa boys gained possession, played forward aiming for the goalpost but Ngwang Brian from no where cleared the danger zone of the Abakwa Boys.
Junior Kemadjo just like Zanaga Ulrich failed to put smiles on the faces of Bamboutos supporters at the 37 minutes from a true by Junior Brandon. Several goal scoring chances created, no goal on either side.
Upon return for the second segment, Chem Hubert successfully beat goalkeeper Patrick Lionel unfortunately for him his strike went inches away from the wooden sticks.
The boys of coach Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso dominated the PWD to the fullest, enjoying their game time in PWD’s danger zone.
Coach David Pagou substituted John Paul Nzo Ngong, Aboubakar Mohammed for Nde Collins, Tchoua Leger trying to strengthen his midfield.
The Magwa boy’s efforts materialized 25 minutes into the second half from Serge Rodrigue Mani putting Bamboutos FC ahead. All efforts from both sides ended the battle 1#0 for Bamboutos FC.
Bamboutos FC now leads the championship with three points.
