The prize money for the Elite One football championship in Cameroon for the 2021/2022 season has been fixed at 50MFCFA.
This will see an increase of 30M FCFA when compared to the pay package bagged home by the most recent champion, Coton Sport of Garoua for the 2020/2021 season.
According to information filtering from the meeting between the Association of Cameroonian Elite Clubs, ACEC and the management of the Cameroon Football Federation holding at Mbankomo this Tuesday December 4, the sum has been increased by the management of the Cameroonian FA to step up the level of competition in the top flight championship.
Meanwhile, FECAFOOT subventions to Elite One and Two clubs have also witnessed a huge increase.
Elite One clubs which bagged home 10MFCFA each in the past seasons as subventions will receive 20 MFCFA for the 2021/2022 campaign.
Outfit competing in the second tier will take home the sum of 10MFCFA instead of the original 5 million as annual subvention from the Cameroonian FA.
The various clubs will also receive equipment from the Cameroon Football Federation.
Sources also suggest, ace president of the Cameroon Professional Football League, General Pierre Semengue will be handed the command baton to oversee the 2021/2022 season.
This is one of the biggest actions by the new government at the helm of the Cameroon Football Federation led by former Indomitable Lions forward and skipper, Samuel Eto’o Fils.
