Some ten games have officially been programmed by the Technical Transitional Council for Matchday one of Cameroon Elite One championship 2021/2022 season, for Sunday March 20, 2022 following the launcher between PWD of Bamenda vs Bamboutos FC of Mbouda Wednesday March 16, 2022.
The games shall be played on neutral venues in four cities shortlisted by Cameroon football governing body FECAFOOT and shall see 20 clubs lock horns to have a taste of first point(s) in the championship that is expected to run till June 2022, with a cash prize of 50 million FCFA for league leader.
The league is unfolding with a total of 25 clubs battling for the top spot amongst which are new clubs promoted from the Elite Two championship at the end of the 2020-2021 football season Fauze Azur Elite, Racing Club of Bafoussam and Renaissance FC of Ngoumou and Ofta of Kribi.
Fovu Club of Baham after leading the Elite One table during the 2020/2021 football season shall open this season’s campaign against Avion Academy of Nkam hoping to retain the Elite title.
Legendary sides Union Sportive of Douala and Tonnerre Kalara Club of Yaoundé with over five titles each have been pitted at locker heads in one of the most interesting games of the day. Both Union and Tonnerre were relegated for the first time in decades during the previous season but the new decision from FECAFOOT helped them continue in Elite One and once again prove their worth.
Ten times Elite One champions and multiple CAF champions league winners Canon Sportive of Yaoundé faces Colombe Sportive of Dja and Lobo. Both sides have engraved their names in the books of Cameroon football with impressive performances and this time they are either expected to share the spoils or one bows to the other for the first points.
Fresh from a defeat in the Cameroon Cup final, the Brazilians of Bepanda Astres club of Douala will be along revenge against newly promoted side Racing FC of Bafussam at the Reunification annex Stadium Bafoussam.
Meanwhile other Elite One new comers Ofta of Kribi, Renaissance FC of Ngoumou and Fauve Azur Elite lock horns for first elite points against New Stars of Douala, Eding Sport of the Lekie and AS Fortuna of Mfou respectively.

Bamboutos FC of Mbouda currently leads the Classification table with three points after beating PWD of Bamenda one nil at the MTN Municipal Arena in Mbouda in league opener.
