Avion of Nkam secured all three points at home against APEJES of Mfou in match-day 27 of Cameroon’s top flight.

Coach Ngambe David’s team had a comfortable 4-2 win over APEJES in a game full of goal scoring chances.

Avion took a 1-0 lead into the break after goalkeeper Dande Junior’s 33rd minute long pass was intercepted by Georges Mfegue who outpaced Roumel Fanche and squared a fine cross to Kooh Bioumla. His diving header left Dande rooted on his line.

APEJES needed just a minute into the second half to level the scores. Avion’s right-back Sighe Bouche heavily brought down Gerard Tamukong and referee Njichu Clauvis pointed to the spot. Abdoulaye Yahaya stepped up and made no mistake.

Avion could have restored their lead at the 57th minute but Kooh Jules Bioumla was absent minded and failed to capitalize on Bertoro Dang’s super pass.

Jules Kooh again was at the end of another through ball from Mfegue but he flopped his lines and Dande came to the rescue of APEJES.

He however made amends at the 65th minute. Ginola Tchoyi danced his way through the APEJES defense and had only Dande to beat but Dande came out on top, fortunately for Avion the shot was parried into the bath of the onrushing Kooh who fired home for Avion’s second.

Avion’s second half substitute Leonard Acha proved to be a hand full for the APEJES backline.

He showed some neat foot work and resilience before crossing to Tchoyi who tapped the ball into an empty net at the 72nd minute for Avion’s third.

APEJES found a way back into the game at the 78th minute. Yahaya and captain Yerima Issa combined and made it 3-2. They both ran rings around the Avion back two of Franck Kamal and Anicet Mboumi before Yerima drove home their second.

Avion restored their two goals cushion through Mfegue who benefited from some fine work from Acha who left Roumel Fanche on the ground before crossing to an unmarked Mfegue in the box. The Avion captain calmly connected with the ball for Avion’s fourth and his ninth of the season.

It was a precious win for Avion who have given themselves some air in a potential relegation battle.
